"Dream" - 2 Berufeng withdrew from the Temple of the Moon shortly after dusk, when the crickets and toads had already begun their nocturne, to make his way to the Shan Teldorei guild commons in search of rest. Upon Mynoras suggestion, he had spent the entire day in prayer to Elune, asking for her guidance and forgiveness; the final request in his litany had been for the health of his dear friend, the great thistle bear he called Remus. His legs had grown weary from sitting, kneeling, and pacing about the temple, and the healing wound he concealed beneath his hardened leather breastplate continued to sting like an icy whip to the chest. Remus trotted down the steps from the enclaves hunter platform as his master passed by, greeting him with a nudge to the ribs from his graying muzzle; his gesture was returned with a
"A Rare Find" - 1 Nearly everything in his life had been transforming before his eyes these past few months. In fact, he was hardly the man that he had thought himself to be, anymore. He was learning patience, sacrifice, tolerance, and humility; his was a new soul, which found itself encased in the corporeal body of an aging man whose aches and pains often got the best of him. Despite his enthusiasm and unfaltering optimism toward his quest, he frequently struggled to continue moving forth, especially now. On the brink of the world he stood, overlooking a vast alien landscape below, with his back to the tall and slender mouth of a dark cave. He cast a final look down at the wicked red terrain from whence he had climbed, though his expression lacked the sense of triumph one would expect to see on the face of a man who had just scaled a steep mountain. No,

Berufeng's JournalEntry Date 1:I don't remember much of the recent past. Judging by the inane markings I've inked into my left forearm and wrist, though, I believe I am on the right path.I found this journal in my belongings, completely blank... it would serve me well to make good use of it and record my days within its pages. If I can manage to formulate a routine, it would be a good idea to read this every morning before I speak to anyone. At this point I should write the most important things I need to know. Read this every day!Yes, I am Berufeng Jangan Hawke, son of Scirius Romulous Hawke and Anyana'li Moonglow, but it is imperative that I go by the alias of Alko Lightweave. The bear that travels with me is my foremost confidante, and he must be called Remus, rather than Bearoofang as he was originally named. He knows much about me that I cannot remember myself, and always knows best. Trust in him in all things, a
"A Companion" - B.C. 3 Berufengs eyes were adjusting to the light, trying to focus on a stone surface a few feet above his face. Suddenly the boy became aware that he was, in fact, awake, and rose abruptly to a seated position. His raspy breathing noises echoed in a strange, dull sort of way off the walls of this small rock orifice. Still adjusting to the new surroundings, he searched his memory for any recollection of how had arrived here. Hello? he asked into the dim light that was coming from his left. He crawled out from his little cubby in the hillside and looked over the dull green prairies of Darkshore. Where am I? he thought, and for a long moment he struggled with his memory to try to piece together what had happened, and how he had ended up in the hills so far from town.
"Orphanage" - B.C. 2 Master Hawke, growled an elderly man in Darnassian, as the childs eyes flickered open. Can you hear me, boy? The room swirled violently around the boy, as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. Closing his eyes again tightly to block out his nausea, he said nothing, but nodded. Youve been asleep for four days now, son. Do you remember what happened? The child searched the depths of his brain for any memory of where he was or how he got there. Try as he might, the last thing he could remember was his mother kissing his forehead, and drifting off to sleep. He shook his head no. Do you know where you are?
